Let’s dive right into the gameplay! Pretty Pet Jewel Town is straight-forward: you play the bejeweled-style game and earn decorations for your room. When you view your room, visitors will come in and some of them have gifts for you. Tap on the gift bubble and you will get something. Either P-coins (in-game money), diamonds (shop currency) or a lightbolt (another life to play).
The game looks great, although it could do with some extra effects and animations.
The music is pleasant to listen to, but the sound effects (the voices complimenting your efforts) could be a little more enthusiastic. Nevertheless, this should not stop you from playing the game.
When it says ‘No more moves’, the ’tiles’ already switched at that very moment. However, I find it a bit hard to see. In other bejeweled games, an animation takes effect when the tiles are switched in such a case.
Some levels are pretty tough. I was unable to beat several levels without spending diamonds. The difficulty is the time: you get 60 or even fewer seconds to clear a level, which is relatively little time. When you choose to continue for a trade of 5 diamonds, you get an additional 30 seconds. Still low, but so far has been doable.
Earning P-coins and items for your room which you can decorate is rewarding and a motivation to play this game. The difficulty of levels in Pretty Pet Jewel Town varies greatly and sometimes it seems impossible to beat a level without spending diamonds. Luckily, you can refill your diamonds by opening up your room and tapping on the gift bubbles from your visitors.
